FIRST LOOK: CHAUNCEY MOORE’S VIDEO OF DEBUT SINGLE “DERAILED” FROM UPCOMING ALBUM “LA VIE EN ROSE” ROCKS

The first video for the pioneer Hub Soul artist from Boston was directed by Lydje Lahens, and is now available for all viewing audiences .

Chauncey Moore may be best-known as the pianist with that bravely experimental group Mission, but he has all the makings of a solo celebrity. Born in Alabama, he moved north to join the freewheeling Boston music scene, in which musicians are constantly swapping styles and playing in different bands – so it's no surprise that this upcoming solo album shall feature an impressive and varied cast. The contingent includes the exquisite Cellist, Composer, Teacher Catherine Bent; one of Boston’s top five Hip Hop Artist, College Professor, Speaker, & Performer Lyrical; Guitarist, Teacher, Engineer, Publisher Tony Schultz; Producer, Songwriter, Director Lydje Lahens, along with contributions from Djalo Cardoso and Paul Bazelais; not to mention the mixing touches of Jared Hancock of Surefire Music Group.

Chauncey Moore’s sound on the album “La Vie en Rose” is very different from other area artist , for he concentrates not on samples, improvisation and virtuoso guitar playing, but on his sturdy vocal work. The songs range from the self-composed title “Scared” to a slinky dance piece from Lydje Lahens and Djalo Cardoso “As a Compliment” and a couple of ballads like the fine Hub Soul sound of “Derailed” from veteran Boston songwriter Lydje Lahens, which are as unashamedly emotional as great country songs.

Chauncey Moore is currently starring in the role of Jimmy Powers in the musical theater “Lady Day”, showing at Emerson’s Bar & Grill, Lyric Stage through April 24. He is also gearing up on the production of the follow up music video for the second single “As a Compliment” from the upcoming album “La Vie En Rose”.
